Robert Borman enlisted in the United States Army in 2009 as a 25C Radio Operator Maintainer, after completing MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) school at Ft. Gordon Georgia. His first duty station was Yongsan, South Korea attached to Special Troops Battalion- Korea, attached to the CJ33 as an Emergency Operation Cell and Missile Warning technician. Following his time in South Korea, he was then stationed in Fort Drum New York. Attached to 1 Squadron 71 Cavalry, a Reconnaissance Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) unit, in the S6 as a Radio Relay and Retransmission Operator, where he assisted in resupplying and resetting the unit after their time in Afghanistan.

            A third-generation VFW member, he has been active in the Veterans community, having served as Vice President and President of the Student Veterans of America chapter at Radford University. He served as a representative to the Veterans Leadership Council of the New River Valley on behalf of the Military Resource Center and Club Advisor to the SVA. Currently, he is enrolled in the Graduate Program at Radford University for English Literature and working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
